The company Azur 7 runs its own production of stones with an AZUR 7 trademark. For 15 years we have been using only the highest quality materials from all over Slovenia and 5% from foreign markets. The Azur 7 stone is composed of 85% of natural calcite (which can be found in pigments, construction adhesives, finishing façade layers, floor-levelling compounds, etc.), which is permanently impregnated with natural acrylic (plexiglass).
WHY A WINDOW SILL?
A window sill protects the interior of a building from ingress of water, protects the façade from dirt, gases, dust, which are deposited on the exterior window sill rather than on the façade. And the sill can be simply wiped with a wet cloth. You can place many different items on external and internal sills, particularly flower pots, decorative items, etc.
Markets offer wooden, plastic PVC, stone, artificial and metal window sills. Window sills can be placed on the internal or external side of the window. Some materials are appropriate for outdoor or indoor installation, but some are more commonly used as interior sills.
REPLACEMENT OF WINDOW SILLS
When the measurements for new windows are being taken, it is very important for the customer to decide whether he will have new sills installed or keep the old ones. If the windows are in good condition while you’re renovating the plaster or façade, replace only sills. In this case the old ones are simply removed and replaced by the new ones. It is recommended to place the exterior sills below the window and seal the contact between the window and the sill. It is the improper installation of exterior sills that often causes ingress of water and, consequently, damages the facade.
A well-isolated window and a well-isolated façade also require an isolative window sill, otherwise heat losses can occur. The best isolative sills are AZUR 7, whereas the opposite applies to the sills made of aluminium and sheet metal.
